"Had it not been for Flat Track Today I would not have learned of the opportunity. Thank You"

Scott Powersports’ Johnny Lewis to make West Coast
trip, supported by K&N Engineering, to compete in two
flat track races while awaiting the AMA Pro Flat Track
Grand National Championship to resume in May

AMA Pro Flat Track GNC racer currently sits tied for second in the national series points

COATESVILLE, Penn. (March 15, 2010) – After earning two career-best AMA Pro Flat Track Grand National Singles Championship finishes at the DAYTONA Short Track earlier this month, Scott Powersports/DR.D/Pit Posse/Monster Energy’s Johnny Lewis is not sitting idle until the series returns in late May. Soon he will head west to compete in two flat track events to continue to improve his racing thanks in part to K&N Engineering. The first will be the San Jose Pro Indoor Short Track on March 26-27, followed by the inaugural Mickey Fay Northwest Extreme Flat Track and Freestyle Motocross event on April 17 in Kent, Washington.

Lewis will compete for the third-straight year at the San Jose Pro Indoor Short Track. The fourth annual event includes a legends reunion and banquet. There will be an "East Versus West Pro Shootout" where the top three East Coast riders race against the top three West Coast riders. Lewis will be one of the invited East Coast competitors. The racing will be held on the concrete floor of the Santa Clara County Fairgrounds arena. Thanks to Jake Johnson and his Zanotti Racing team, Lewis will ride one of his Honda CRF450R race bikes. Come out to see Lewis compete in the shootout during the weekend of March 26-27 in San Jose, California. Visit www.sanjoseindoor.com to learn more about the event.

The former AMA Grand National Championship racer Mickey Fay will host his first-ever Mickey Fay Northwest Extreme Flat Track and Freestyle Motocross event at the ShoWare Center in Kent, Washington. This will be held in all-new arena with a polished concrete floor. Pros from across the country will compete for a portion of the $10,000 purse. Expect fast, tight bar-to-bar battles in all the classes. Kent is south of Tacoma. The first 500 kids into the arena get a free checkered flag. Come to the ShoWare Center in Kent, Washington on Saturday, April 17 to see Lewis compete, which is likely the only time he and many other AMA Pro Flat Track racers will race this year in Washington. Visit www.mickeyfaysraces.com for tickets and to learn more about this event.

“After the DAYTONA Short Track I was super-pumped and ready to race again, but I had to get back to work for a few weeks,” said Lewis who now wears AMA National number 10. “I’ve had a blast racing the San Jose Indoor Flat Track before and want to do it again to keep my momentum of great finishes. Plus it’s awesome to race bikes on concrete as we nearly drag the handlebars around the corner. I cannot wait to head west to hit San Jose again and see what the new Mickey Fay race is all about.”

The first year Monster Energy athlete, Lewis, is currently tied for second in the longest-running series in AMA motorcycle racing history, the AMA Pro Flat Track Grand National Championship.

Racing fans be sure to attend these events to see Lewis and some of the fastest flat track pros in the country. Make sure to mark your calendars for the next Singles round of the AMA Pro Flat Track Grand National Championship in Springfield, Illinois for the Springfield TT on Saturday, May 29. Silkolene continues long-time sponsorship of Johnny Lewis

Athlete is preparing for the opening round of the AMA Pro Flat Track Championship

COATESVILLE, Penn. (February 16, 2010) – When Johnny Lewis turned pro at the age of 16, following a decorated career as an amateur flat track racer, Silkolene was one of his first major sponsors. Five years later, the premium motorcycle lubricant brand continues to back the pro flat tracker who is making his return to racing at Daytona Bike Week on March 3.

Silkolene was the official lubricant of Team HMC/Generations of Sonoma Wine KTM when Lewis first came onto the pro scene in AMA Supermoto. The following two seasons, Silkolene sponsored the Factory KTM/HMC Racing Team, again in the supermoto series. When Lewis went with his own program in 2008, Silkolene came on board and has been with him individually ever since.

“There are two reasons why Silkolene is important to me and why every year it’s a top priority to have them in my program,” said Lewis. “Silkolene protects my engine parts and entire bike with the world-renowned lubricants and cleaning materials. Also, I have a relationship with them where I feel like part of their family. When a rider goes on his own at a young age after being factory-backed like I did three years ago and a brand like Silkolene comes along it gives such an extreme vote of confidence. That they continue to back me is even more confidence-building!”

Lewis will compete on a Scott Powersports/DR.D Honda CRF450R in the AMA Pro Flat Track Singles Championship and a custom-framed Kawasaki Ninja 650 in select AMA Pro Flat Track Twins races. Silkolene will be vital in keeping the performance and reliability for both race bikes at high standards.

Look for Lewis at the opening two rounds of the AMA Pro Flat Track Championship on the all-new dirt oval at Daytona International Speedway on March 3-4 as part of the famed Daytona Bike Week. He will be competing with national number 10. In the meantime, follow Lewis on Twitter at www.twitter.com/johnnylewis21 and visit his website at www.johnnylewis.org.

The fastest qualifier at round two last season, this athlete will wear national number 10 in his return from injury

COATESVILLE, Penn. (January 26, 2010) – One of the most fluid riders on the track is returning to the AMA Pro Flat Track Championship. After posting the fastest qualifying time at round two of the 2009 series and earning some impressive finishes in his rookie year, Scott Powersports/DR.D/Pit Posse’s Johnny Lewis tore his ACL at a supermoto race in May sidelining him for several months. This season, he will compete in the entire AMA Pro Flat Track Singles Championship and select Twins races.

“I haven’t been this excited to start a season since my rookie year in supermoto,” said Lewis. “I’m taking all the positives from last year like my strong finishes at Daytona and the Springfield TT and also fighting for the win at the supermoto race. I took this ‘unplanned’ time off to work on my program for this year. I’m all healed up now and ready to rock this!”

Lewis will race a Scott Powersports/DR.D Honda CRF450R in the Singles races and a custom-framed Kawasaki Ninja 650 in select Twins races. Lewis has been running number 21 for three years, a number he established in the AMA Pro Supermoto Championship. Now he will run the new permanent national number 10 in the AMA Pro Flat Track Championship. He earned this number as a result of his strong finishes at the three rounds he competed.

In his three races before injury last season, Lewis finished 13th at the Daytona Short Track opener. The very next day, he posted the fastest qualifying time and went on to finish third in the Dash for Cash. In the main, he earned a 12th place finish. At the third round, the Springfield TT, he improved greatly finishing an impressive seventh in the main.

Lewis recently got on his 2009 Kawasaki KX450F in North Carolina for a practice session (a bike he will use as a back-up this year). Even after the long layoff, he shows in a video that he has not lost his smooth, fast style. You can check out the video here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YVonfo6RcCo.

A number of sponsors have returned to support Lewis’ 2010 season, including Coopersburg, Pennsylvania-based dealership Scott Powersports. It heavily supported Lewis last season with motor and suspension work, a mechanic, and transporting his race bikes. Scott Powersports is increasing its support even more this year, providing Lewis the ability to compete in select AMA Pro Flat Track Twins races on a highly-modified, custom-framed Kawasaki Ninja 650 flat-tracker. Long-time sponsor Dubach Racing Development (DR.D), which Lewis brought into AMA Pro Supermoto in 2008 and then AMA Pro Flat Track for the first time ever last season, is back with its powerful and light exhaust systems. Pit Posse is also one of Lewis’ long-time sponsors that is now considered a major sponsor this season. New this year is ONE Industries and Monster Energy, among a few others. Lewis will wear a Monster Energy green claw, black Arai helmet that is synonymous with its sponsored riders.

Lewis added, “I have the same great team behind me with Mike Scott and Scott Powersports, Doug Dubach and DR.D, and Pit Posse. Time to throw on my new ONE Industries gear, Aria helmet, Smith goggles and get ready for Daytona! We’re working on a new website, videos and other stuff for fans to keep track of my season. We have content we’re looking to add on ActionSportsTV.com too including video of me preparing for the season, so keep a look out. I cannot wait to take on the new dirt oval at Daytona in March!”

Keep posted to Lewis’ preparations for the AMA Pro Flat Track Championship opener by visiting his Twitter at www.twitter.com/johnnylewis21 and YouTube channel at http://www.youtube.com/johnnylewis21. The opening two rounds will be on the brand-new dirt oval at the Daytona International Speedway on March 3-4 as part of the famed Daytona Bike Week.
